About the artist

Fran Ornstein is a retired creative director with decades of experience. She has won international awards for advertising, logo design and packaging. Typography, calligraphy, and line have been her passion. What’s’sname comes out of that background.

She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. She studied illustration at the School of Visual Arts and drawing at the Art Students League in New York. She maintains a weekly practice of drawing from live models two thirds of the year.

Fran lives in the picturesque South Shore of Nova Scotia. Her baby names have delighted friends, family, colleagues and customers across Canada and the United States. And with that encouragement has created this website. Thank you for checking in.
